Electrostatic discharge is to examine the resistance of the equipment when receiving direct discharge or electrostatic field interference from external static sources (such as human bodies or devices with electric charge).
? Service Background
Electrostatic discharge is to examine the resistance of the equipment when receiving direct discharge or electrostatic field interference from external static sources (such as human bodies or devices with electric charge).
Direct Discharge:
Including contact discharge and air discharge. Contact discharge is mainly performed on the exposed metal parts of the device surface while air discharge is carried out on areas covered with insulating materials on the device surface.
Indirect Discharge:
Only includes contact discharge. The discharge is done to the horizontal coupling plate and the vertical coupling plate, which are positioned at a certain distance from the device. The coupling plate is grounded through 470k ohm resistors so when the plate is discharged, the static electricity on the plate will not be discharged to the ground immediately, but instead uses the plate as a static power source to form an electrostatic field to interfere with the equipment.
? Testing Capabilities
The testing voltage of direct discharge and contact discharge ranges from 0.2KV-30.5KV.
